Since taking on The Red Lion in 2006, owners Matteo and Alyson have wanted to take the pub back to its roots as an alehouse, brewing beer for customers to enjoy.
After months of planning and recipe development, we now produce seven tasty beers of our own:
Bircher Best (3.9% abv) - a traditional full-flavoured Amber bitter.
Nine Ladies (4.2% abv) - a rich tawny ale with bitter toffee aromas.
Cork Stone (4.5% abv) - a golden ale with aromatic hop flavours and a pleasant bitter finish.
Robin Hood's Stride (5% abv) - an IPA packed with floral hop aromas and a clean bitterness.
4 Moors - a rich dark stout delicately flavoured with aromas of vanilla and cocoa
Batch 20 - an easy drinking traditional mild with a full flavour and pleasantly bitter finish
Bionda (4.7% abv) - A refreshing Italian lager style beer with a full hop flavour and smooth finish.
Matteo makes Birchover Blue cheese at a local dairy farm, helping the hard-working farmer get a fair price for his milk. It is only available from ourselves and is subject to availability. If you've never tried it, you're missing a treat: creamy, full-flavoured with the subtle piquancy of a true blue cheese.

We do not book our outside tables. We ask that there be a maximum of 6 people at each table inside or outside.
Inside tables are very limited and we cannot accommodate groups of more than 6. Larger groups are not permitted to book/occupy multiple tables. A non-refundable deposit of £5 per person will be taken on booking. Booking is essential to avoid disappointment.
