In addition to darts, dominoes and other traditional games to play at the Red Lion Birchover, we often host other events. These include traditional music sessions, Sardinian nights, Curry nights, pizza nights and quiz nights. Just watch this space to find out when the next event in planned for and come to join in.

September
Thursday 11th: Rock and roll bingo Night (Best of British music)
Rock and Roll Bingo is a fresh, exciting twist on the traditional game of bingo, replacing numbers with classic and popular songs. Instead of marking off numbers, players listen to snippets of music and cross off song titles on their bingo cards. 
Enjoy a pie & mash meal followed by musical bingo for £15 (£5 deposit taken on booking) Food from 6pm to 7.30pm, Bingo at 8pm.
 

Friday 26th: Tapas tables
Choose from a tasty selection of tapas dishes, all freshly prepared by Matteo.
A great way to enjoy a relaxed eating experience with friends and family. 
4 dishes for £20. (Booking advised)

October
Fish and chip Fridays
Enjoy freshly cooked fish and chips every Friday through October for £15 (Eat in or takeaway)

Saturday 11th October: Sardinian Night
Yes, our legendary Sardinian Nights return for the autumn and winter season.
Book your seat at our shared table to enjoy prosecco on arrival, a selection of authentic antipasti, roasted meats and dessert all prepared by Matteo to reflect the flavours of his homeland. 
£30 pp (deposit of £10pp taken on booking). Not suitable for guests with food allergies/intolerances. 7pm arrival.

Thursday 23rd: Quiz and Curry Night
Come and get cosy with a warming curry, rice & Naan, followed by a game of ‘Brain Box Bingo’ a bingo based quiz where you need to know the answer and have it on your card to win! A great combination of brain power and luck. 
£15pp (£5 deposit taken on booking) Food from 6pm to 7.30pm, quiz at 8pm.

Fish and chip Fridays
Enjoy freshly cooked fish and chips every Friday through November for £15 (Eat in or takeaway)

Thursday 13th: Psychic Night with Kirsty Celik
An evening of ‘messages’. Expect tears and laughter as Kirsty works in a heartfelt and humorous way, connecting with your loved ones in the spirit world. This is an evening you won’t want to miss. (for entertainment purposes only)
Prosecco on arrival and a homemade pie meal £25 (£5 deposit taken on booking)
Food 6pm to 7.30pm. Kirsty starts at 8pm. 

Saturday 29th: Sardinian Night

Thursday 11th: Christmas cooking demo

Let Matteo take the stress out of cooking, by showing you an easy starter, main and dessert for Christmas dinner followed by a shared cheeseboard & nibbles. 

£15pp (£5 deposit taken on booking) We will be donating some of the proceeds of this evening’s events to the village defibrillator. 

Wednesday 24th : Christmas Eve quiz

Our annual Christmas Eve quiz is always a lovely night of sharing fun and laughter with friends and family before the big day. Cosy up and enjoy a tasty meal, pull a cracker and then get quizzing. 
Food served from 5pm to 7.45pm, quiz starts at 8.30pm. 
Book early to avoid disappointment as this event fills up fast!
£20pp (Includes a glass of prosecco, meal and quiz entry. £5 deposit taken on booking).

Wednesday 31st: New Year’s Eve Sardinian Night

Welcome in the New Year Sardo style!
Book your seat at our shared table to enjoy prosecco on arrival, a selection of authentic antipasti, roasted meats and dessert all prepared by Matteo to reflect the flavours of his homeland. 
£30 pp (full amount taken on booking). Not suitable for guests with food allergies/intolerances. 7pm arrival.

We'll be joined by the incredibly entertaining and astute Kirsty Cellik. Have a pie and a taste of the paranormal for £25. £10 deposit taken on booking. Limited availability.
